Frequently asked questions
How long is the free trial, and what happens when it ends?
The trial lasts 7 recorded days, needs no account or card, and runs on Apple silicon and Intel Macs. Days without records do not count toward your trial. When it ends, recording keeps going and nothing is deleted. Today’s Day and Trail views, the menu bar, CSV export, privacy settings and clearing history stay open. Earlier days, Week, Month, the daily report, search and CLI queries need a key.

Writing, design, coding, studying or a project of your own. Hina helps you review your time. It does not offer client billing, invoice management, cross-device sync, team dashboards or website blocking, and has no productivity scores, rankings or streak rewards.
What does Hina record, and does it need internet access?
Hina takes no screenshots and reads no page text or key contents. Window titles need Accessibility permission, not Full Disk Access. No activity data is uploaded. Hina goes online in three places only: opening the Dodo checkout page, one activation request when you paste a key, and an update check that reads a static version file. None of them carries your activity.
Can Hina track AI tools and work with an AI agent?
Time in AI tools is recorded like other apps. With your permission, Hina also reads prompts from Claude Code, Codex, Cursor and Antigravity. An agent can query your records through the built-in read-only CLI and skill. Queries run on this Mac, and Hina does not take part in the conversation. If the agent runs in the cloud, what you ask it to look up enters that service’s context, under its own privacy rules.
How do I activate Hina, and are updates included?
Open Hina’s Settings, click Activate in the license row, and paste the key from your purchase email. Activation connects once; your records stay on your Mac. All future updates are included, with no upgrade fees. See the purchase and activation guide for finding your key or moving to another Mac.
